During the ISPA 2022 Conference , a lot of social activities are being organized. You can find an overview of all these social activities on this page. Please note that you have to register for some of these activities via the registration procedure. There is a limited attendance for the social activities, registration according to first come, first serve principle. 

Welcome Reception | Museum Hall | 19:00 | Including Drinks and Finger Food

On the eve of the ISPA main conference, we organize a Welcome Reception for all participants at the Museum Hall. The Museum Hall is property of KU Leuven and is located in the University Halls, which has served as the university’s central building since 1432. The building itself dates from 1317 and was originally used as a cloth hall. Today it houses the Rectoral Offices and the Registrar’s Office. Its majestic, gothic-style Museum Hall is used for receptions and celebrations. Please book your place while registering for the conference.

Leuven is the centre of the ‘Beleuvenissen’ on Friday, July 8. You will be able to encounter lovely music acts throughout the entire city. Please feel free to explore this event and the lovely city center of Leuven on this evening. More information about the ‘Beleuvenissen’ can be found on the bottom of this page.

Guided tour ‘Leuven Walk of Fame’ | 9:00 – 12:00

Famous people of Leuven or ‘celebrities’ who visited us are playing the leading role in this walk. Curious to know who once stole corpses to do science? Or did you know words like “utopia” and “atlas” were first used in Leuven?  At every stop we talk about an old and a new VIP. Discover that our highlights of Leuven have more than one story to tell. Brewery visit- AB InBev | Brouwerijplein 1 | 9:00 – 12:00

Seven centuries of brewing traditions guarantee a perfectly brewed Stella Artois in the heart of the university city of Leuven. And you can see it with your own eyes during one of the entirely renewed, impressive and entertaining brewery visits. During the guided tour, which takes approximately one hour and a half, you will become familiar with all major aspects of the Stella Artois brewing process: the brand’s history, the brewing process and the breathtakingly fast bottling and canning lines. Chocolate Workshop | 9:00 – 12:00

Belgium and chocolate – Of course! Make the most delicious real Belgian chocolates during this workshop. Please book your place while registering for the conference.
